Doritos Super Bowl Ad Will Make Someone $1 Million Richer

Everyone knows that Super Bowl commercials are just as entertaining as the game itself.

When it comes to prime Super Bowl airtime, advertisers are willing to pay millions for the exposure.

Letting fans get a piece of the action, Doritos is back with its “Crash the Super Bowl” campaign. The campaign asks the public to submit their own homemade commercials in hopes of scoring bragging rights, having their commercial air during the game, and $1 million in prize money.

As an added bonus for the aspiring filmmakers, the winner will have the chance to work with director Zack Snyder, DC Comics, and Warner Bros. on an upcoming project.

This year, three finalists were selected from a pool of 4500 submissions from 28 countries. The participants were asked to put a unique twist on the same general plot: the characters have a major craving for their beloved cheesy tortilla chips and will do whatever it takes to get them.

There’s nothing “amateur” about the three final submissions; they’re just as memorably hilarious as the Super Bowl spots from big name brands. They see a Tinder user swipe through a bunch of potential matches to arrive upon an old lady with a bag of Doritos; a group of dogs try to ridiculously fool an unimpressed store owner; and a baby bursting out of the womb early after being exposed to the chip through an ultrasound.

Check them out out for yourself (my vote is for the baby):

Don’t get too inspired to start working on your own for next year – sadly, is the final year for the contest.
