You now have another reason to hit the Rogers Centre this season.
Prepare yourself for banter and brews at the home of the Blue Jays.
Presented by Jays Care Foundation Young Professionals Board, Extra Innings: Dugout Talks & Ballpark Brews will give fans special access to the Rogers Centre as well as the opportunity to connect with the industry’s top movers and shakers.
It all goes down on August 18th. Attendees can expect a sports and business-focused panel discussion followed by an intimate after party with no shortage of fun photo ops. Proceeds from the event will help support the Jays Care Foundation’s Rookie League program.
Hosted by Sportsnet’s Hazel Mae, speakers on the panel include Arden Zwelling, writer for Sportsnet magazine, Rory Capern, Managing Director of Twitter Canada, Paralympian, entrepreneur, and author Kevin Rempel, and Blue Jays alumni Jesse Barfield.
Guests will be given the Major League treatment, with Blue Jays-themed activities, an open bar (don’t schedule any early morning meetings), music, games, special guests and prizes including an exclusive Toronto Blue Jays experience.
But perhaps the best part is knowing that you’re making a real, tangible difference in the life of a fellow baseball-loving Torontonian. Each $95 ticket purchased sends one child living in a Toronto Community Housing Corporation (TCHC) neighbourhood to a five-day Rookie League Camp.
Now in its 28th season, the Jays Care Foundation’s Rookie League program uses baseball to teach important life skills to over 1,200 children in Toronto and 8,000 children nationwide.
All proceeds from this event support Jays Care Young Professionals’ goal of raising $150,000 for Rookie League programming.
Sounds like a home run event to us.
