WORK

Describe what you do in less than 140 characters. Go.
I’m a real estate agent at one of the most influential brokerages in downtown Toronto, Brad J. Lamb Realty Inc.

What was the inspiration for your career route?
I’ve had many different jobs prior to becoming a real estate agent that had made me realize all I wanted was to be able to put in my maximum effort and have an infinite ceiling. No monotonous work that would make me regret what I do. The ultimate goal was becoming more international and being able to travel all over for international buyers.

What is the most memorable milestone in your career so far?
My first sale. I was able to take my entire family out for a dinner.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years, 10 years, 20 years?
I can definitely see myself dealing with a lot more international clients and expanding my portfolio; not only in real estate but in other business ventures, such as tech start-ups. I also have a secret passion for major sports, and could possibly dip into that market. I’ll just be happy to wake up and love what I do, like I do now!

Do you have any advice for other young professionals?
Build your pipeline and work. Do what you want to do and do it really well. You HAVE to stay positive regardless of the outcome, so keep working. Smile, take a deep breath, and continue to trek on.

Do you support any charities? If so, which one(s) and why is it (or they) important to you?
I’m a strong believer in helping kids. I was a Sick Kid when I was younger; I also have an adorable niece who was also one, so that has a special place in my heart. I’ve always contributed to Sick Kids Hospital when I can. I also regularly attend and support Big Brothers and Sisters.

What is one major challenge that youve had to overcome in your career? How did you overcome it?
In an industry that is solely based on commission, I have the major daily challenge of providing for myself. People only see the glamorous side of real estate through all of these “reality” shows, but fail to realize only the strong willed, mentally tough persevere. With an excess of real estate agents that are unprofessional, unknowledgeable, and are overall bad agents, that would be the biggest challenge I must overcome. My clients who work with me know the type of professionalism and meticulous attention to detail I express when helping them. I will continue to do that with a smile on my face.

What does the word notable mean to you?
Making a significant contribution to your community, city, and your own life. To the BEST of your abilities.

PLAY

Where is your favourite place to wine/dine in your city and why?
I’m a simple man when it comes to wining/dining. I’ll take a taco from El Catrin and pizza from Pizzeria Libretto. When it comes to a drink with friends, any of the city’s patios and hidden dive bars throughout.

Whats the most visited website on your Internet browser? The most played song on your phone?
TSN.ca, Youtube and Investopedia. Looking at my iTunes right now, We Found Each Other in the Dark by City and Colour and Jamming by Bob Marley.

Whos one person you think everyone should be following on social media?
Other than me?!

Whats your favorite country to visit and why? And whats the next one you plan on travelling to?
Deutschland, aka Germany. I lived there for over a year and the country is stunning. In just a 110-year span there is enough historical events to make thousands of hours of documentaries. The people are beyond friendly and the beer is pretty damn good too!

What gives you the greatest FOMO?
When all my friends or family get together for a BBQ on the weekends and I have to miss out.

Whats your guiltiest pleasure?
Pizza… 24/7.

Whats something you wish you didnt spend so much money on? Whats something you wish you spent more on?
Unnecessary expenditures from dry cleaning, to gas, to parking. I wish I could spend more on my friends and family.

And finally, what does success look like to you? Work, play, or otherwise
Success is that smile you see in my picture; it’s knowing that I worked hard to where I am now, and will continue to work even harder to maintain that smile.
