Dad Creates The Most Awkward Personal Ad in History to Find His Son a Wife

Parents can be so embarrassing.

One dad, however, took things way too far.

Without his son’s consent or knowledge, Salt Lake City resident Arthur Brooks took it upon himself to place a full-page, $900 personal newspaper ad seeking a wife for his son.

As if that wasn’t bad enough, he makes his 48-year-old son Baron sound like a total d-bag as well. Written from Baron’s point of view, the ad states that he is looking for a very specific type of woman. First of all, she needs to be between 34-38, “height and weight proportional,” be politically conservative, and “willing and able to have children as soon as possible.”

Oh, and she’s gotta move to Salt Lake City and be a stay-at-home mom.

All others need not apply.

His father was particularly passionate about a potential wife’s political views, stating, “If you voted for Obama or plan to vote for Hillary you are not for me.” For that reason, he also places the ad in an Idaho paper – a state that’s predominantly conservative.

As for Baron, the ad states, “I look just like my picture, except now I have grey hair,” and “I am 5’5″. If you’re 5’8 and like to wear heels often, this may not work.”

It didn’t take long for the ad to go viral.

Not surprisingly, Baron was thoroughly mortified by his father’s initiative. Nonetheless, his dad still plans to conduct ‘wife interviews’ at the Coeur d’Alene Resort in Idaho tomorrow. If you’re interested and willing to hop on a last-minute flight, you’ll need to bring a picture, a background summary, and a one-page description.
