Coming Soon: Versace for H&M Collection

We’ve seen an array of collections from renowned fashion designers hit the racks at H&M in the past few years, but Versace for H&M is definitely one of the most highly anticipated collections yet. This high-street/high-end collaboration will be in select stores from November 19th, and it is set to encompass the essence of Versace.

Bold animal prints, leather bustier dresses and loud colours are all part of the mix and they will undoubtedly bring some much needed colour and flamboyancy to the Fall 2011 wardrobe. Some of the more notable pieces of the female line include a classic black silk crepe dress with gold Grecian buttons on its patent straps, a multicoloured sequin dress covered in archival Versace prints, and a fitted leather biker jacket embellished with studs.

The collection will also see the resurfacing of some of Versace’s iconic dresses: a studded leather dress that Donatella herself stepped out in just earlier this year on a Milan runway is featured in the line, as is a metallic silver sequined number that is more reminiscent of Versace’s 90s era.

Leather features extensively in the female accessories collection as well – a high-heeled laced boot and a studded suede high-heeled sandal, along with studded leather bags and velvet bags covered with the Miami palm print – and are among just some of the accoutrements you gals can pine over.

The men’s collection is equally as bold as the women’s, with buckled leather high tops, shirts with metallic wing-tips on the collars, and multicoloured leopard-print boxer briefs.

Versace’s palm and optical prints are used generously in the male line; it appears on T-shirts, as well as on thin-knit cashmere sweaters, while print is also used on velvet bombers, jeans, and even swim trunks. Men’s accessories include funky pieces like embellished beanies, print scarfs and the ‘perfect’ dress shoe.

Dare to be bold this Fall and grab some hot pieces from the Versace for H&M collection.
