Colorado is Getting its First Drive-Thru Weed Store

When it comes to quick gratification, the only thing better than delivery is drive-thru – whether it involves your caffeine, fast food, or weed fix.

Colorado – a state known as much for its marijuana culture than it is the mountainous ski scene – now has a drive-thru pot shop. Enter, The Tumbleweed Express, a former car wash turned pot shop in Parachute Colorado.

Set to open in March, the soon-to-be stoner staple will be full of all the green goodness you need in just a few easy interactions.

Not surprisingly, it’s not all fun and games, and there are some strict rules in place. In accordance with the Marijuana Enforcement Division, no one under the age of 21 is allowed on the premises, even in the back of the car (this will be one errand the kids aren’t welcome on).

“As far as I can tell, we are not aware of this business model ever coming up before,” Robert Goulding, spokesman for the state Marijuana Enforcement Division told the Denver Post.

While the spot is actually the first drive-thru pot shop in the state, it’s not the first to be approved south of the border.

After all, the weed industry is a booming one. In fact, the town of Parachute previously had a ban on cannabis shops but lifted it in order to boost the town’s economy.

While it doesn’t look like we’ll get a drive-thru distillery in our home and native land in the near future, the good news is that a few Toronto distilleries (ahem, Potluck) have jumped on board the delivery bandwagon, helping your Netflix and chill cause like never before.
