Coeur by La Tohu

Serving as a bridge between the Spring of Nations (1848) and the Arab Spring, this part of the Jeux de cartes. Tetralogy deals with the passing from magical ancient times based on beliefs and illusions to the modern world, where knowledge and materialism reign. Among the characters involved in the story are Chaffik, a young taxi driver from Maghreb living in Quebec and trying to shed light on his family’s troubled past, as well as the great magician Jean-Eugène Robert-Houdin, who uses his talents to conjure up the spiritual power of 19th century Algerian Marabouts. The family, political and artistic network that connects them transcends both time and borders.
