Coachella Releases 2012 Lineup

The killer 2012 Coachella lineup has just been released, and all we have to say is…WOW. With headliners like Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Radiohead and The Black Keys, an additional weekend added for 2012 and some of the world’s top electronic, indie and hip hop artists, we have a feeling that this year’s Coachella is going to be better than ever. And that’s what we said last year.

This year’s Coachella especially resonates with today’s young professional, who likely grew up singing Radiohead around a campfire, dancing to Snoop Dogg at countless high school semi formals and pumping Dre in our cars down residential streets. And what better way to return to those days than an excuse to camp, get dirty and return to the basic pleasures of crowds, half-naked young people and music? You may even make a road trip out of it, should you feel so ambitious and nostalgic.

Admittedly not your typical vacation (and probably one you’ll need a vacation from afterwards), the annual music and arts festival offers an unforgettable weekend adventure like no other for music lovers from around the world. The three-day celebration takes place April 13-15 and from the 20th to 22nd. Coachella is held at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California, 210 km east of Los Angeles, where the weather usually brings dessert heat and clear skies. If camping isn’t your thing, there are an assortment of hotels and houses available for rent, if you get on it now.  Notable artists we’re looking forward to most?

Electronic: Swedish House Mafia, Afrojack, Zeds Dead (Toronto), Avicii, Justice;
Indie: The Black Keys, Feist, Bon Iver, Explosions in the Sky, Beirut, The Shins, Florence and the Machine;
Hip Hop: The Weeknd (Toronto), Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre

Each weekend is a separate ticket, priced at $285, and will go on sale at 10am PT Friday. If you’re not in line (online, that is) the second tickets go on sale, you’re almost guaranteed to miss out. Just hop on Twitter and search Coachella and you’ll see why.
