CityTV and Biography Air ‘Extraordinary Canadians’

Three episodes of Penguin Canada’s critically acclaimed 12-part biography collection Extraordinary Canadians will be aired on both CityTV and the Biography Channel, starting on December 18 and January 7, respectively.  This Sunday’s episode, narrated by M.G. Vassanji, is the literary biography of Canada’s most loved satirical write, Mordecai Richler.

Some of Canada’s most celebrated authors will paint the stories of and give insight to the nation’s most influential figures. Each episode, described as a biography with a point of view, will reference a great Canadian and how their actions have shaped our lives and ways of thinking.  The show also portrays the relationship between writer and subject, which ultimately links the two.

From such notable leaders such as Pierre Elliot Trudeau and Emily Carr, and well-known authors like M.G. Vassanji and Jane Urquhart, there will be a huge variety of topics covered in this half -hour mini series. 

The next episode will be broadcast December 18 on City TV, with the finale concluding on January 22. Tune in to get a fascinating perspective on the lives highly influential Canadians, as well as the writers themselves.
