Childhood Commercial Icon Subway Jared is Being Investigated for Child Pornography

We really hate to see another one of our childhood icons fall like this. (Remember Screech?)

But when your claim to fame is devouring Subway sandwiches with reckless abandon – which often have zero nutritional advantage over anything you’d find at McDonald’s – to lose weight, your life is probably littered with a few bad habits along the way.

Subway Jared’s bad habit, in this case, was porn.

In 2007, a report came out claiming that Jared Fogle ran a porn rental company out of his Indiana University dorm back in the day, an entrepreneurial pursuit that made him so lazy that it actually spurred the Subway sandwich-eating frenzy that has come to define his career.

Unfortunately, it also set the stage for a much more appalling, and criminal, act: possessing and producing child pornography.

Police raided Subway Jared’s home at 6:30am this morning. No official charges have been laid, but he’s believed to be connected to a raid earlier this year that revealed Russell Taylor, the former director of the Jared Foundation started by Fogle, was in possession of more than 500 videos with images of child pornography.

Damn it, Jared.
