Celebrity 360: Jennifer Garner

You’ve heard us speak of the balanced 360-degree Notable life – all of our YPs strive to achieve a balance of professionalsocialcharity and living life. To feed your weekly guilty indulgence of both male and female eye candy, coupled with 360- degree inspiration, we will profile a different celeb each week that we feel embodies this. This week features television and film actress Jennifer Garner…

Professional
Jennifer Garner is one of the lucky actresses who made the successful transition from television to film. She gained quick recognition for her performance as CIA agent Sydney Bristow in the popular series Alias, which aired for five seasons from 2001 to 2006. While working on Alias, she caught the attention of film producers and began scoring minor roles in hit Hollywood movies such as Pearl Harbor (2001) and Catch Me if You Can (2002). Garner has since gone on to appear in a series of supporting as well as lead roles on large projects including Daredevil (2003), 13 Going on 30 (2004), Elektra (2005), a spin-off of Daredevil, andJuno (2007). Jennifer Garner is in a new movie called The Odd Life of Timothy Green, which comes out this August.

Social
Jennifer maintains a balanced social life and spends her time with a close-knit group of other down-to-earth Hollywood moms like Reese Witherspoon and Toby McGuire’s wife Jennifer Meyer. She frequently enjoys low-key girls brunches, lunches and dinners out but also will make higher profile appearances. She appears at her events wisely, choosing her family and kids over a packed social calendar. In particular, Jennifer and husband Ben Affleck make regular appearances at a selection of charity galas and the must-not-miss events like last summer’s BAFTA event in Los Angeles with the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. In general, however, the couple can be found enjoying park dates and outings with other couples and their children.

Charity
Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck support a variety of charities and are vocal about using their celebrity status to do good. Among others, Jennifer supports Children Mending Hearts, Milk+Bookies, The Art of Elysium, Clothes Off Our Back and many other worthwhile causes. Last summer the then-pregnant actress hosted the Elyse Walker Presents Pink Party ’11 to benefit the Cedars-Sinai Women’s Cancer Program.

Living
Out of all of Hollywood’s leading ladies, Jennifer is probably described as down to earth the most often. While she always looks glowing and flawless on the red carpet, her day-to-day style is functional and low-maintenance and typically includes jeans, running shoes and t-shirts. Jennifer is vocal about putting her family first and her desire to eat both breakfast and dinner with her children when working on a filming schedule. A hands-on parent, she is regularly photographed out and about with her family at Los Angeles-area farmers’ markets and playgrounds and taking her two daughters, Violet, 6, and Seraphina, 3. to ballet. Perhaps one of the few, Garner and Affleck’s marriage is referenced as a Hollywood success story. The pair welcomed a son, Samuel, last month. Garner recently revealed that she would get her killer pre-pregnancy body back with the help of a trainer, as inspired by fellow knockout Jennifer Alba’s rapid and drastic weight loss after pregnancy.
