Celeb Juice: Week of May 8, 2012

At Notable, you’ve heard us speak of the four pillars of a well-balanced, 360-degree lifestyle – Professional Life, Social Life, Charity Life and Living Life. We always have an ear to the entertainment industry and each Tuesday we bring you the latest weekly snapshots on some of your favourite celebrities as their lives fit into our Notable categories.

Professional
Last Wednesday (May 2), Scarlett Johansson unveiled her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, making her the 2,470th star to grace the famous sidewalk. She has every reason to celebrate; her latest film The Avengers from Walt Disney’s Marvel Studios and directed by Joss Whedon has recently smashed box office records and won over critics. The Avengers broke the record for the best opening weekend in Hollywood history and, just two weeks in release, has already generated $641.8, passing The Hunger Games on the ranking of top-grossing 2012 releases worldwide.

Social
Our favourite YP celebs were out in full force and with some great fashion last night at The 2012 Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute Gala — better known as the Met Gala — in New York. Young power couples to grace the red carpet include Gisele Bundchen and her husband Tom Brady who took advantage of the red carpet spotlight with a kiss and an exposed leg pose adopted by Gisele from Angelina. Newly engaged (and finally decidedly on-again) couple Jessica Biel and Justin Timberlake were all smiles. It was Beyoncé who took the Twitter world by storm with her arrival in a sheer body-hugging Givenchy gown, showing she has clearly been hitting the gym since the arrival of her baby. In an equally as tight dress was an always-radiant Rihanna. Other stars getting it right on the red carpet include Heidi Klum, Claire Danes, Gweneth Paltrow, Emily Blunt and a very grown-up looking Dakota Fanning.

Charity
Yesterday, Prince Harry was in Washington for a black-tie dinner where he received a humanitarian prize for his work supporting charities that help wounded British and U.S. military personnel. Prince Harry accepted the award on behalf of his brother Prince William, who is involved in similar charity work.

Peyton Manning, Tim Tebow and John Elwaare are involved with The Mask Project, a charity to benefit The Denver Hospice whereby celebrities, artists, sports figures and other notables help decorate clay masks. The masks are displayed at the Cherry Creek Shopping Center in Denver and are put up for auction, with proceeds benefiting the hospice.

Living
If you ever want to catch a celebrity, head courtside at the NBA playoffs. This season it seems more than half of Hollywood has graced the seats of stadiums across the US. On May 1, David and Victoria Beckham, Jack Nicolson, Zac Efron and Ashton Kutcher were courtside during Game 2 of the Los Angeles Lakers NBA Western Conference quarter-final playoff game in LA. Lil Wayne has been a fixture at Miami Heat Games and sat beside fellow rapper Drake to take in the 2012 NBA All-Star Game at the Amway Center a few months back. Other basketball-loving celebrities who have made appearances this year include Alicia Keys at game 4 of New York Knicks versus the Miami Heat (accompanied by adorable son Egypt and hubby Swiss Beatz). Also spotted on the 2012 NBA circuit are Christina Aguilera, Charlize Theron, Leonardo DiCaprio, Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez, Tom Brady, Niki Menaj, Beyonce,  Jay-Z and Seth Myers.
