Canada’s Largest Aritzia Store Will Open in Montreal

Canadian fashion giant Aritzia will keep growing their expansion across North America to celebrate 30 years in business.

The largest and most impressive store, however, will be built in Montreal. That’s right, fashionistas, start making extra room in those closets.

Founded by CEO Brian Hill in 1984 and launched as a single boutique in Vancouver, Aritzia has grown to include more than 60 boutiques located in select cities across North America including San Francisco, Chicago, Manhattan (5th Avenue and Soho), Ottawa, Toronto, Vancouver, Victoria, Whistler and more.

The growth and popularity of Aritzia seems to be far from slowing down – plans are to add even more stores across the states and Canada – so it only made sense to keep the momentum going and plant more style seeds in our fair city.

So how will the space look? Two stories with over 9,800 square feet of retail space.

The store is set to open in 2015 and will feature a metal and glass storefront referencing the heritage of the existing building. The main floor with a new concrete finish will house a grand atrium space with open ceilings, planted terrariums and custom video installations.

A new escalator and a custom, curved staircase will lead to the studio-inspired second floor, featuring a natural white oak floor and casual fixture arrangements. Custom millwork, graphic finishes and curated artwork by local artists will be found throughout the space.

Sounds dreamy, right? Mark your calendar, ladies.
