The Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (CARAS) just announced the nominees for the 2015 JUNO Awards at a press conference at The Danforth Music Hall.
In addition to some of our favourites announced as nominees (like Lights, Leonard Cohen, Drake, Deadmau5, and MAGIC! to name a few), the crowd was also treated to a surprise performance by the Arkells.
Here are the nominee highlights:
The Heavy Hitters:
MAGIC! leads the pack with five nominations: JUNO Fan Choice, Single of the Year, Breakthrough Group of the Year, Songwriter of the Year, Pop Album of the Year.
Kiesza was close behind with four nominations: Single of the Year, Breakthrough Artist of the Year, Dance Recording of the Year, and Video of the Year.
Leonard Cohen: JUNO Fan Choice, Album of the Year, Artist of the Year, Adult Alternative Album of the Year.
Hedley: JUNO Fan Choice, Single of the Year, Album of the Year.
Nickelback: JUNO Fan Choice, Album of the Year, Group of the Year,
Serge Fiori: JUNO Fan Choice, Album of the Year, Francophone Album of the Year.
