Canada is First to Get YouTube’s New Mobile Messaging Feature

Finally, we have something from Google before our friends south of the border do (and something else to brag to them about).

Canada is first to get a new YouTube mobile feature that makes it a lot easier to share videos with your friends.

Making the platform more social, the update allows users to share videos in private conversations within the app, as opposed to relying on other social platforms like Facebook and Twitter.

Up until now, the feature was restricted to use by a small test group.

So, why Canada?

Apparently, citizens of our home and native land have a lot of love for YouTube. According to the company, Canadians share video 15 per cent more often than the average user globally.

The feature is now live for all Canadian users in iOS and Android.

Elsewhere, users will need friends who already have the feature if they want to be included themselves.
