Calgary’s Philharmonic Orchestra Reaching Out to YPs

When it comes to amazing music, the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra (CPO) is a leader in the city and it’s no question why. But we think it is their Club Wolfgang that makes it super ideal for the city’s young professionals.

The CPO already had the Amadeus Patron Circle, which is a bit of an exclusive ‘club’ for those who support. But the Circle may not be the most ideal for a young professional because most members are our parents’ age. That is where Club Wolfgang comes in.

Geared completely towards the city’s young professionals, Club Wolfgang has become a popular group to join. The benefits are great: two tickets to four performances a year, opportunities to meet special guests and artists, access to the Founders Room during shows, as well as VIP invites to various events geared around special performances held at great venues such as Teatro and Centini.

These events have all the makings of a great night out. Generally there is a theme around the concert, and those that attend often participate by coming in costume to celebrate the evening. There is also food and drink specials, as well as the ability to personally meet any special guests and/ or musicians.

The club also provides a lot of networking opportunities, which we are always looking for as young professionals. Not only is there the opportunity to meet other YPs who are Club Wolfgang members, but you also get to meet members of the Amadeus Patron Circle, many of whom are willing to develop mentoring relationships with YPs.

By becoming a member (there is a fee to join), you get to make contributions towards CPO programs personally selected by Club Wolfgang members. Whether it is the enhancement of programs, bringing in special performances (you get access to private mini concerts) or the development of new programs, as a member you are a part of the decision making process.

Of course we also have to note that the CPO offers the CPOssibilities program to YPs under the age of 30. This gives those who love the music the ability to attend select concerts at a fraction of the cost of regular tickets.
