All proceeds will be going to Wings of Hope Breast Cancer Foundation and Compassionate Beauty. Dress code is pink and black tie, and there will be a fashion show featuring designs from Ruby Ellen Designs and Broken Doll Clothing. Dar Williams Comes to Town
Dar Williams hits Festival Hall in Inglewood this weekend. Williams has had a career in the music business for a long time and her music is described as an intersection somewhere between pop and folk. This is sure to be a creative and entertaining show. After the show, you have 9th Avenue SE just a block away, which is home to many great restaurants and watering holes. For tickets, click here. Doors are at 7pm and show starts at 8pm. Tickets are $30 advance or $35 at the door. Festival Hall is located at 1215 10th Ave SE.

Annual Zombie Walk
Do you ever spend your Saturdays at shopping centres feeling like a zombie? If this sounds like your weekend routine, then you need to shake it up this Saturday and participate in the Annual Zombie Walk. Hordes of undead Calgarians will be putting on their best zombie make-up and most terrifying costumes to participate in this fun event. Not into the fake blood? You still may want to do some people… we mean zombie watching. The walk will leave Olympic Plaza at 2pm and head from Stephen Avenue to 4th Street and up to 17th Avenue SW (ending at Millennium Park). It will be a scream! Click here for more information and costume ideas.

Friday, Saturday and Sunday

Thank you, Calgary!
Heritage Park’s summer season is just about over now. This weekend is your last chance to visit the park’s historical sights and attractions. To thank the patrons of Heritage Park, there will be free rides over the long weekend. Check out the midway, take a ride on the S.S. Moyie paddle wheeler, or visit one of the many historical buildings. Even better, the Wainwright Hotel is offering a scrumptious three-course Turkey Dinner, which will be served from 11am to 3:30pm.  Sounds like the perfect way to spend the weekend.

Sunday/Monday
If you’ll be hanging out close to home for Thanksgiving, why not throw on the radio and check out some of wonderful CJSW radio programs this Sunday and Monday? The funding drive for CJSW kicks off this upcoming week and this is a great chance to listen to the station that prides itself on promoting local acts and events. There will be a ton of great events in the weeks to come, with all proceeds going back to CJSW. Tune in and see what all the hype is about.
