The Wet Secrets
The Wet Secrets are back! This five-piece Edmonton band is more fun than a barrel of monkeys with their radical outfits, horn section and creatively named playlist. You can’t help but get into the dance party when you hear songs like “Get Your Own Apartment.”

The group will be rocking out at the Palomino Smokehouse this Friday night while introducing their brand new album, “Free Candy.” The Wet Secrets will be joined by special guests The Switches, Sons of Bears and Lorrie Matheson. Don’t leave the Palomino without trying the garlic fries!

Three Kings Sled Show
The Republik is hosting the Sled Island Three Kings Show, a Christmas rock show in collaboration with Sloth Records. The show will feature the music of Calvin Love, who brings his own version of Albertan pop, Mark Mills who will be dishing up some dance-y 80s electro, and Sean Nicholas Savage, a musician that has been linked to Doldrums, Grimes and Braids. Tickets are $12 in advance; to check out the musicians beforehand, you can visit the Bandcamp page. If you don’t have a Christmas party to hit this Friday night, this is the place to be.

Blue Christmas
This Friday you can celebrate the holidays with a wide variety of music. Country legend Moe Bandy will be performing along with Rev. Elvis, The Travelling Mabels and The Heebee-jeebees. You’ll also have the chance to see world-class Native hoop dancing, Las Vegas-inspired dancing and Stan Foster, who will be paying tribute to Frank Sinatra.

Tickets are $59 for adults and $19 for children. Tickets can be purchased on Ticketmaster. Show begins at 7pm.

A Christmas Spectacular
Every year during the Calgary Stampede Grandstand Show, the Young Canadians wow audiences with their dynamic performances. The Young Canadians are a talented and diverse group of young, local performers who are trained in music, theatre, gymnastics and dance. This December, the Young Canadians present ‘A Christmas Spectacular’, which will showcase their amazing abilities on stage. This magical production will feature appearances from marching toy soldiers, harlequin dolls and dancing penguins as you are serenaded with classic Christmas tunes made new again.

Last Chance Christmas Market
Looking to get out of town this weekend? The village of Longview off highway 22 is hosting their last Christmas Market. From 10am to 4pm you can stop in at the Longview Community Hall to pick up a few stocking stuffers or presents for the crafty person in your family. If you’re headed out that way, you should definitely stop in the town of Black Diamond to eat at the Chuckwagon Cafe (105 Sunset Boulevard). 403.933.0003
