After a bit of a battle with rush hour traffic, we happily landed at Black 2 Blond located at 3575 W. 4th Avenue and stepped inside to be greeted by their PR gal, Lyndi Barrett of LJPR. Upon being introduced to the salon director, we got a personal tour of the sleek, stunning and bright space courtesy of Philip Jung, Managing Partner and GM for Key Beauty Systems.
Bubbles in hand, Philip introduced us to the extensive (and impressive) line of La Biosthetique products, which are all made in Germany. After sharing details about the various benefits of the full scale beauty line (that includes a men’s care selection, an organic collection, and uber-high-end line of hair care made with champagne and pearls).
Invited media guests were tempted to partake in a complimentary salon service to discover the La Biosthetique products as well as unwind after a long day. We spotted fashion and beauty blogger Solo Lisa enjoying a hair treatment and several stylists enjoying some quality nail pampering and exclusive facials (Black 2 Blond seriously does it all).
We opted for a hand massage with Himalayan salt before heading over for a makeup touch-up with Francesca, the Salon Director. Yup, we pretty much felt like a princess.
In between all of the pampering, bite-sized comfort food was offered courtesy of Taste to Savour Catering and Fine Foods. Mini pots of mac and cheese tempted us, as did the grilled cheese Panini topped with caramelized onion.
With the busy holiday season gearing up to take over our evenings and weekends with social gatherings, Black 2 Blond will be our go-to spot for respite and relaxation. So when the party train comes to town, we think young professional women in search of a salon to call ‘home’ ought to head over to Kits for their next beauty fix.
