Best Lobster Rolls in Montreal

Montreal is an east coast city and not far from New England, where you can find the best seafood in North America. As such, when it comes to notable seafood, Montreal piggybacks on the fresh fish train and has also managed to rock the pants off some of the classic east coast seafood dishes. We’ve already discussed how amazing oysters are in this city, now it’s time for lobster rolls…

Lucille’s Oyster Dive5626 Monkland Ave.
This Monkland neighborhood hot spot has become quite the regular watering and feeding hole for Montrealers over the past few years. Open seven days a week, you will never find this place quiet or empty, and part of the reason for that is a result of their famous and notable lobster rolls. Quite simply some of the freshest lobster you will ever try, what makes this dish so good is its simplicity; two steamed buns, laid side by side filled with fresh and zesty lobster chunks (served of course with a load of French fries). You can share this dish with a friend and still leave feeling full and satisfied.

Au Pied de Cochon536 Duluth East
Considering this restaurant specializes in Quebec cuisine (with of course a carnivorous focus), perhaps it is surprising that this Montreal landmark’s specialty is the lobster roll. Taking a bit of a different twist from the standard lobster roll (as only PDC can do), they tackle this dish with a concentrated, yet delectable, sauce, as well as sharp cheddar cheese.

Resto Muvbox Lobster Box, Old Port
The Muvbox is a pop up restaurant made from an old shipping container, which pops up in the Quays of Old Montreal between Farine Five Roses factory and De La Commune Park, by the water every summer. The restaurant serves gourmet lobster rolls and clam chowder and it is a staple go-to when it comes to tasting one of the best lobster rolls in the city.  The roll comes with a bag of Lays Original potato chips and you can sit and eat and enjoy amongst friends on a picnic bench by the water.
