Picking out your Christmas tree this year just got a lot more fun.
That’s because Bacardí Rum is putting together the ultimate outdoor experience by creating a pop-up tree lot/rum bar in the middle of downtown Toronto.
It’s called the Bacardí Holidega and it’s a festive twist on the traditional bodega market.
Whether you’re looking for a condo-sized sapling ($10 each) or a towering evergreen ($20), you can find them all at the pop-up (while quantities last). And as an added plus, cash proceeds will be donated to Toronto-based food rescue and charity, Second Harvest.
Don’t worry, we didn’t forget about the drinks. Patrons are invited to hang out and sample premium Bacardí Gran Reserva holiday cocktails including the Hot Toddy, Eggnog and Gingerberry Punch – but you must be 19 years of age or older to enjoy them, of course.
“Bacardí is excited to celebrate the holiday season in our signature, untameable style. This isn’t going to be any ordinary holiday celebration,” says Dominic Kreutzner, Senior Brand Manager, Rum at Bacardi Canada in a press release.
“We went big, bold and out-of-the-box so we’re extremely excited to bring this urban tree lot and rum bar to life.”
It all goes down on December 5 from 6 to 9 p.m. and December 6 from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Brassaii Restaurant and Lounge at 461 King Street West.
But if you can’t make it out to the event, here are a few Holidega inspired cocktail recipes that you can make at home this season:
