That doesn’t mean, however, that the last weeks off their season aren’t offering some good news to fans – and future fans – alike. Time is not on the Blue Jays side. With only 35 games left to play and a 4-6 record in their last ten games, the boys in blue really need to start picking it up if they still want to be playing come October
After a weekend of walk-off celebrations against the Detroit Tigers (including a 19-inning marathon on Sunday), the Jays flew to Seattle and were reminded why the baseball season is long and hard. Dropping all three games against the Mariners, the team must now sweep themselves up off the floor and climb back into the race
The Jays managed to steal only one from Baltimore and are now tied with the Yankees for second place in the AL East. Lawrie made a brief cameo, but is once again injured. Cabrera’s elbow isn’t broken and will hopefully be back to work by the weekend
