Australian Man’s Sobering Video Shows What Can Happen From One Bad Ecstasy Pill

A lot of people think ecstasy is “just MDMA.”

This is blatantly false, and especially concerning because of the latter’s increased popularity over the past decade. While ecstasy does primarily contain MDMA (methylenedioxy-methamphetamine) it’s often also cut with a host of other adulterants that, unless you’re the one making it, are a complete mystery. Pills can be cut with anything from baking soda to speed, or caffeine to LSD – and those are the safer additives.

The point is, unless MDMA is consumed in its purest, crystal form, you never really know what you’re taking.

It’s a risk many are open to take, but one that 22-year-old Australian Jody Hurdes found out the hard way. After taking a bad pill, Hurdes was hospitalized with a stutter and severe muscle spasms – both of which he may have to live with forever.

Through his Facebook page, he offered an incredibly sobering message about why taking even one chance on a sketchy pill just isn’t worth it.
