Find Out How Toronto’s Artbound Enriches the Lives of Children Through Art

Since 2008, Artbound, a Toronto non-profit organization, has been changing the lives of children through the gift of art.

The organization has already made a positive impact on so many children from around the world, and the team shows no sign of slowing down in 2016.

In just a few years, the Artbound team has raised more than $450,000 and built the Kisaruni Arts school for girls in Kenya, as well as a community centre in Rajasthan, India.

These life-changing projects were possible because of the selfless volunteers who have been using their love for art and good will and putting them towards a good cause.

This year, the Artbound team was able to raise almost $20,000 and made a special trip to Guatemala, where they brought over a dozen suitcases full of toys, art supplies and clothing for local children. The team also paid a visit to the El Amor de Patricia orphanage and delivered formula, chairs and tables.

More importantly, the team was able to deliver bunk beds, sheets and blankets for those in the community living in harsh conditions.

Finally, before leaving Guatemala, the team was able to hire an art teacher, who will be responsible for going into the community for at least a year to cultivate art and creativity in the minds of local kids, something that Artbound believes will make a huge difference in the their lives.

It’s through these gifts that the Artbound team hopes to help less privileged children realize their full potential and feel inspired by the power of art.

The group is also launching a new platform called Creative Deedswhich invites anyone to start a creative campaign, or ‘deed’, online as a fundraiser. Some of the affiliate arts-focused charities already involved include: Free the Children, War Child, Unity School Program, Waves of Hope and The Cape Dorset Legacy Project.
