This past Tuesday guests got a taste of what’s to come at the Art Battle National Championships tomorrow (Saturday, July 26th).
Art Battle Canada teamed up with SickKids Foundation in a pre-party designed to raise funds for the SickKids Bear Theatre renovation. The event was held at the Mattamy Athletic Centre (former Maple Leaf Gardens) VIP Lounge, where star painters teamed up with SickKids Patient Ambassadors to create works that celebrate the healing power of the arts.
In typical Art Battle fashion, the art was then up for grabs to the highest bidder, with proceeds benefiting the theatre renovation. And, as always, there was some great stuff on hand as the art-loving guests passionately bid away.
The artists are warmed up and three of our favourites (as voted by you) have been allowed back into the contest; now the question remains whether reigning Art Battle Champion Yared Nigussu will maintain his coveted title. Did you catch our interview with him last week?
