Graphic Spider-Man is hitting the big screen in 2018.
Sony Pictures Chief Tom Rothman announced yesterday that producers Phil Lord and Chris Miller have been given the green light to create a Spider-Man animated movie.
And after that, everything else from Las Vegas’ CinemaCon is pretty much second-rate news.
The duo’s resume includes The Lego Movie, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, and 21 and 22 Jump Street, so we have every reason to believe Rothman’s own assessment that the project will be “f*cking awesome.”
The film is set for release on July 20, 2018. The next release from Spider-Man’s $4 billion franchise will be a live-action rendition from Marvel’s Cinematic Universe.
One more year of Peter Parker, and then it’s back to the roots.
