An Abused Irish Fitness Blogger Just Shared a Powerful Video to Raise Awareness for Domestic Abuse

An Irish fitness blogger has shared a powerful video on her Facebook page – and one that took a lot of courage.

Basically, if you’re going to watch any video on the web today, it should be this one.

In the wake of an obviously messy breakup with her partner – the father of her children – Emma Murphy uploaded the video, which features her bruised and battered and alleging that she was the victim of repeated domestic violence.

“Even once is unacceptable,” Murphy says in the video, “but to be made to feel that it is acceptable is even worse. To be made to feel that you’re paranoid or insecure. That’s mental torture, and no man should do that to any woman.”

She claims she’s been hit across the face after confronting her ex over allegations of infidelity – but that it wasn’t the first time. Murphy says that in the past, her “charming” ex had split her head open at an event and had given her a black eye in another incident.

“I finally realized that no, this is not acceptable,” she says. “No man has the right to put his hand on a woman. No matter how big, how small, no matter where you’re from,” she says.

She ends the emotional video with a few words of encouragement for women who are going through the same thing: “So if anyone out there has gone through something similar to what I’ve gone through, you need to find the courage and get away from anything that’s as unhealthy as violence.”

“Go to your friends and family, people who love you and care about you.”

Not surprisingly, the video has gone viral in a major way – and the hope is that it continues to make its way around the internet.

I thought long and hard before posting this video, this is very difficult for me but I have to do what is RIGHT, if you or anyone you know has it is in a similar situation please share this video to inspire other women around the world, violence is NOT the answer!!!!
