WORK

Describe what you do in less than 140 characters. Go.
I bring the Amex brand to life through PR, social and influencer content.

What was the inspiration for your career route?
I had to pick a career for a Grade 10 Careers Studies project and thought PR sounded interesting and cool. Turns out I was right!

What is the most memorable milestone in your career so far?
For me, it’s not about pinpointing one specific milestone – it’s about the overall journey of my career. I’m so proud to have been able to work my way up from a summer intern to now managing our brand PR and social strategy.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years, 10 years, 20 years?
In 5, 10, or 20 years, I hope that I’m still feeling passionate about my day job, and still progressing my skill set. I’ve never been the type of person to chase titles or promotions; it’s always been about ensuring I’m consistently learning and feeling proud of what I do.

Do you have any advice for other young professionals?
Understand your own personal brand. Invest in yourself. Get a mentor/sponsor, and make sure to stay true to who you are in your career.

Do you support any charities? If so, which one(s) and why is it (or they) important to you?I’m really lucky to be working for a company that places such an emphasis on giving back to the community. I take any chance to participate, whether it’s through volunteering my time, or donating to our annual employee giving campaign.

What is one major challenge that youve had to overcome in your career? How did you overcome it?
Not always having to hold things so close to my chest and taking help when it’s offered.

What does the word notable mean to you?
Notable is about not being perfect, but getting things done.

PLAY

Where is your favourite place to wine/dine in your city and why?
Anywhere I can get pizza. I really don’t discriminate when it comes to pizza.

Whats the most visited website on your Internet browser? The most played song on your phone?
Lainey Gossip (I love my daily gossip fix). Most played album is Lemonade by Beyoncé.

Whos one person you think everyone should be following on social media?
Fluffy Pack on Instagram for a hit of cuteness every day.

Whats your favourite country to visit and why? And whats the next one you plan on travelling to?
Japan was probably the craziest country I’ve ever visited because it felt like I was in another world – definitely stands out as a favourite. My next trip will be to Iceland!

What gives you the greatest FOMO?
Missing out on a concert I know everyone is going to.

Whats your guiltiest pleasure?
Reality TV.

Whats something you wish you didnt spend so much money on? Whats something you wish you spent more on?
Make-up. Travel.

And finally, what does success look like to you? Work, play, or otherwise
Success means never having regrets about the decisions you’ve made.
