Alligator Found Chillin’ in Toronto’s High Park

For all you Young Professionals thinking about hitting up High Park for some post-work workouts this week – think again.

While the rest of us soaked up the sun on Sunday, an alligator-like creature (a caiman, to be exact) was spotted cooling off in Catfish Pond, in the park’s west side.

And although caimans aren’t exactly real alligators – some species can grow to 13 feet – which sounds pretty terrifying to us. (Especially when compared to the squirrels that we’re used to).

In a nutshell: Toronto’s unpredictable torrential downpours aren’t the only occupational hazard for the city’s runners, joggers, and cyclists anymore – so keep your eyes open if you pass by shore-side this week.
