Alexander Wang is skipping to the loo with his SS14 campaign. Shot by Steven Klein, the campaign features models Anna Ewers and Zuzu Tadeushuk in a grungy public bathroom. Intriguing…
“Since the Spring/Summer 2014 collection plays on the duality of naïveté and perverse explicitness in youth culture, we wanted to shoot the campaign in a very familiar environment most people grow up reminiscing about,” Wang told WWD.
The collection, as well as the campaign overall, mused over the 90s kids high school days with an emphasis on logos, grunge and parental advisory. Wang “love[s] blurring the lines between censorship and humour,” which is clear in his shot of the platform-pumped feet from a grimy bathroom stall. He also features model Anna Ewers sprawled across a sink in this season’s key parental advisory label top, which has already been seen on celebrities such as Rihanna and, of course, Alex’s four-year-old fashion icon of a niece, Aila Wang.
