Now that everyone’s back from summer vacation, the AGO 1st Thursdays event on September 5th makes a civilized option to catch up with friends if you want to avoid the TIFF chaos. Held on the first Thursday of each month, it is a not-to-miss affair for Toronto YPs – art lovers and party regulars alike. Much like a scaled down version of the Art Gallery of Ontario’s Massive Party, the event offers an evening of art, entertainment, shameless networking, and, of course, a chance to sip cocktails and create art at the famed gallery.
September’s 1st Thursday delves into the imagination and experience of the world’s most influential contemporary artist: Ai Weiwei, and includes a specially ticketed live video chat with the artist himself and a performance by the Toronto punk band Fucked Up.
