A Record Breaking Edition for the Casino Contre le Cancer

A sea full of designer suits and dresses flooded the always glamorous Windsor Ballroom as young professionals and entrepreneurs prepared to gamble for cancer research. But the truly notable part? A record amount was raised this year

The third edition of the Casino contre le Cancer took place last Friday, September 26th, at Le Windsor Ballroom.

Filled with gastronomy, glamour, and excitement, the evening brought together hundreds of young professionals and entrepreneurs, all of whom were there for one reason: supporting local research in cancer immunotherapy.

The organizers of this exceptional evening, the Montreal Cancer Institute’s Young Ambassadors Circle and Ms. Maral Tersakian, Executive Director of the Montreal Cancer Institute, announced a record edition, with a net amount of $ 135,000 raised. This money will be entirely dedicated to funding research in cancer immunotherapy via the Diane Asselin Fund.

The glitzy evening kicked off with VIP guests taking a chance in the private Poker Tournament while renowned Relais & Châteaux Chef Jérôme Ferrer and his team from Restaurant Europea created a five-course dinner.

During the VIP Texas Hold’em Poker Tournament, gambling enthusiasts, seasoned professionals, and WSOP champions including Charles-Alexandre Sylvestre, Pascal Lefrancois, and Marc-André Ladouceur all had their game faces on in the company of NASCAR driver Isabelle Tremblay.

The “Vintage Vegas” themed casino night followed the first part of the evening in a stunning atmosphere filled with all the frills you’d expect from a true Sin-City experience.

Gaming tables and a silent auction let guests, quite literally, bet against cancer. And an open bar, food stations, and special performances kept everyone entertained and lively well into the late hours.

And yes, we shut the dance floor down. Obviously.

One of our favourite artists Antoine Tavaglione (TAVA) created a magnificent project on site while Projet Aeolia and the sultry Scarlett James put on a sexy show that blew up Instagram. For real.

As always, DJ Abeille knew how to fill the dance floor with beats paired perfectly alongside magnificent video content created by Circo de Bakuza.

We even got beautified at the Armani Beauty station – after all, everyone can always use a little extra powder.

In fact, Casino contre le Cancer was such a success that we we’re already working on our poker face for next year.
