A Notable Night at D.W. Alexander

On Monday we introduced you to D.W. Alexander, a brand new Toronto hot spot that’s got a firm grip on a strong cocktail. Formerly The Foundation Room, the space has been fully re-done to resemble an upscale gentleman’s study, complete with a small library, leather-bound stools, and an expertly stocked bar.

If this sounds like the perfect place to get 100 of the city’s trendiest young professionals (YPs) together for a few after-work cocktails, you either think like us or you drink like us.

For a few hours last night, YPs of all kinds mixed and mingled in the chic space while sipping on cocktails created by renowned Toronto mixologist Aaron Beaudoin. These delicious and all too drinkable concoctions included The Judy Blue Eyes (Cazadores Reposado tequila, Cointreau, lemon juice, yuzu juice, vanilla syrup, lavender bitters, orange flower water) and a Rum Old Fashioned (Bacardi 8 yr. Rum, demerara Syrup, Angostura bitters, cigar tincture). Needless to say, the evening’s smoothness was aided by such original and, um, effective additions.

Snacks offered throughout the night included ‘taters (mini rosti, apple crème fraiche, smoked ketchup), sloppy bison sliders (slow cooked bison, smoked cheddar) and bacon popcorn from the Goods & Provisions sourced kitchen. Dinner had nothing on this movable feast.

All in all, it was a hell of a great way to kick off the weekend (what – you wait ‘til Friday?) If this sounds like something you’d like to a part of, stay locked on Notable.ca by signing up for our newsletter for future opportunities to join the party.
