Greeted at the main entrance off Granville Street by the friendly Indigo/Chapters team, we were handed our ‘wish list’ card and escorted up to the main preview party. Tea, cocktails and sweet and savoury treats were offered but we opted to get right down to business: checking out table upon table of bright and shiny new things for spring.
Throughout the store, displays invoked thoughts of lazy summer days by the pool, impromptu beachside picnics, backyard BBQs and time spent curled up with a favourite book.
We ogled pile upon pile of playful prints that adorned everything from pillows to place settings. Linen napkins burst with a fresh mix of colour and an assortment of platters, bowls and utensils all echoed with signs of season.
If you shop at Indigo/Chapters this season, you’ll definitely want to pick up more than a few of their own line of Indigo Scents candles (we counted at least 10 different varieties to choose, from guaranteeing all noses will be happy).
Looking for some culinary creativity? They’ve got that neatly covered too with a selection of rustic cheese boards (which can be personalized to make a great gift), funky mason jar glassware and beverage dispensers, shot glasses and more.
Of course, nestled amongst the culinary accessories was an assortment of cookbooks from some of our favourite celeb chefs guaranteed to get you inspired for some grill time. To accent this we noted a great variety of tapenades, herb rubs and olive oils that got us thinking (and salivating).
For the home, Indigo/Chapters showcased stunning displays of knick-knacks we loved, be it a cool, weathered-looking photo frame, mirrors, antique-style posters or wall adornments.
What really caught our eye was the wide variety of different fashionable accessories available at Indigo/Chapters (at least more than we can remember). They’ve upped the ante on both style and colours, and now go well beyond basics to include items like bangles and blinged-out wristlet purses, linen scarves in a wash of colours and sparkly clutches perfect for patio season. Lest we forget their oversized totes for packing up a few blankets and stash of beach reads.
