A Canadian Couple Just Got Married in Front of More Than 1,000 Cats

It’s wedding season, which can only mean one thing: it’s time to find the perfect summer outfit, sharpen our claws, and lick our fur into shape.

Right?!

We’re talking about cat guests, of course, because 1,100 of them recently got themselves suited and booted for the feline wedding of the century.

Canadian couple Dominic Husson and Louise Veronneau travelled from Quebec to California to get, ahem, meow-ed at The Cat House, a feline no-kill, no-cage charity.

The pair, who have been together for three years, had no other human guests at the wedding except for the officiant – The Sanctuary’s founder, Lynea Lattanzio, who was specially ordained for the occasion.

And what about wedding gifts?

Did Dominic and Louise receive envelopes stuffed full of catnip? No, actually – the couple requested donations be made to the sanctuary instead.

Why? Well, meow, some people just really love cats.

We sincerely hope their first dance was to Tom Jones’ classic, What’s New Pussycat?
