9 Reasons it’s Better to be Single on the Weekend

You know how you’re reading this alone and no one is asking you to take out the garbage or do the dishes?

Exactly.

Because once you’re tied down, these two precious days won’t ever be the same again.

Here are 9 reasons why it’s better to be single on the weekends.

1. You Have Juicy Morning After Stories (Or Your Friends Do)
As opposed to the predictable banter most couples have over brunch or the morning paper, your Saturday and Sunday mornings are filled with juicy and entertaining stories from the night before – whether they’re your own, or with fellow single partners in crime.

2. You Get the Bed to Yourself When You’re Hungover
That’s right. You could starfish all dman day if you wanted to. Should you feel so inclined, you could even have your own little yoga class right in the middle of it.

3. Weekends are Always Exciting
When you’re single, weekends represent a magical time where anything can happen. Seriously, anything (all you have to do is say yes to the next adventure). For your friends in relationships…not so much.

4. You Can Leave the Party Whenever You Want
Speaking of exciting weekends, yours always has the potential to be as story-filled as possible, because you can stay out until 6am if you want to. Or call it a night at 10pm without anyone being disappointed that you embarrassed them in front of their friends.

5. You Don’t Need to Go to Ikea or Home Depot
Hell is not a place you plan on visiting this weekend.

6. You Can Eat Brunch Wherever You Want
Even if that means Taco Bell. There’s no need to compromise when it comes to brunch – even if ‘brunch’ is a lb. of chicken wings at 5pm.

7. You Can Marathon Watch Anything You Want on Sundays
Just like brunch, you don’t have to make any compromises in the Netflix department. You can shamelessly spend the day watching whatever you want – even something you’d never admit you did. (It can’t be a House of Cards life all the time.)

8. You Don’t Have to Entertain In-Laws/Their Family
Though you may have to make time for your parents here and there on the weekends, at least you don’t have to take someone else’s parents into the equation too. Being ‘on’ is for weekdays, being ‘me’ is for weekends.

9. It’s All About You
If you didn’t pick up on the theme of the first eight points, being single on the weekend is great because it’s all you all the time. Whether you check a million errands off your list, clock in extra time at the gym, or do nothing at all, the best part about your weekends is that it’s all about you
