9 Montreal Halloween Parties Worth Checking Out

You have two days.

That’s right, only 48 hours until Halloween hits.

So if you’ve yet to make plans or you haven’t the slightest idea of what events are happening in town, the good news is we’ve done all the work for you.

Here are nine notable parties you won’t want to miss if you’re in Montreal this Halloween.

1. Yelloween at New City Gas
New City Gas kicks off the frightening festivities on Thursday night with Yelloween, featuring none other than dance-music legend Erick Morrillo. The genius behind Reel to Real’s “I Like to Move it” is set to take the Griffintown hotspot’s turntables by storm for what will be an epic pre-Halloween celebration.

2. Jack in the Box Adult Playhouse at Pandore
Le Pandore is throwing a spooky affair of their own on Thursday night, intriguingly named “Playhouse.” Regardless of whether they plan on sneaking any scary tricks or treats into said “box,” we were sold the minute our eyes fell upon the words “Adult Playhouse”.

3. Halloween at the #Moose
There’s always something happening at L’Orignal and this Friday is no exception. While Miles Hainsworth spins the scariest beats to hit your ears since the “Are You Afraid of the Dark” theme song came out, Halloween at the #Moose will also serve as the launch of their new late-night menu. Costumes are a must and free tricks and treats will be served as of 1am.

4. Japanimation at Flyjin
Things will not be as they seem come October 31st at Flyjin. We’re not quite sure what this means, but we do know that they’re hosting a Japanimation-themed party so you should gun it to the closest costume shop for anything remotely resembling an anime character (think Sailor Moon or Dragon Ball Z).

5. Halloween Mega Kawaii Anime Kitty Fun Time at Datcha
Keeping with Japanese animation, Datcha is throwing its own anime costume party on Friday night. Hosted by K-Kitty, you can expect a solid lineup of DJs, and any girl dressed in anime garb will score free “prezzies”.

6. Friday Night Flashback at Rosewood
If you think the ‘80s were the greatest decade of all time, get ready to channel your inner Axl Rose and swing by Rosewood’s Friday Night Flashback event to celebrate all things ‘80s. Feel free to go so far as to revive your favourite ‘80s band with friends (Motley Crue or The Cure anyone?), and let Rosewood take you back in time.

7. The Dashing Dead Masquerade Speed Dating at Rasoi
Who said Halloween had to be limited to thrills and chills? Dashing Date’s Dashing Dead Masquerade Speed Dating event this Friday at Rasoi promises to help all you single young notables find your masquerade match in no time. If you’re a women aged 25-35 or a man aged 28-38, buy a ticket and get ready to mingle in Rasoi’s private dungeon – masque and spooky cocktail included.

8. Purgatoire Electronique
Trash Family and Inkel Productions are throwing the cyberpunk-themed Purgatoire Electronique on Friday night. Expect an open bar, a costume contest, and other spooky surprises. As for where it all goes down, the location will only be revealed with ticket purchase.

9. Saintwoods Presents “Kill”
The guys behind Saintwoods are throwing a top-secret bash that promises to be the ultimate late night celebration. Kill starts at 3am on Friday in a mystery location and happens to be an invite-only party. Want to make the list? You’ll have to find yourself an in, or as they say: “contact one of the fam.”
