40 Montreal Food Trucks Take Over Place Des Festivals

With the massive hype and joy surrounding the decision to finally allow food trucks in Montreal to cruise our hot, hot streets and feed us all throughout the day, it’s no wonder that The Just For Laughs Festival is following up the success of last year’s collaboration between comedy and culinary… this time, just much bigger!

This celebration of street food, which was previously called ‘le Souk’ in 2012, has been renamed ‘Bouffons Montreal!’ and has taken over Place des Festivals on the northwest section covering Maisonneuve, Balmoral, Mayor and Bleury streets.

This mega foodie takeover will be packed with delicious mobile kitchens from the already existent trucks, as well as newcomers – something for every taste and craving.

What sort of food can you expect? Anything from tartar and sausages to butter chicken, smoked meat, gourmet coffees, smoothies, ice cream, grilled cheese and the list goes on and on…

Some of the familiar names on site include the delicious (and one of the originals) Grumman 78 tacos, Gaufrabec with indulgent waffles, Diablo’s for all your ribs and BBQ needs, Lucille’s bringing the lobster rolls to a whole new level, Pied De Cochon dishing duck legs, Le Cheese got them delish grilled cheese and much much more!

A special addition to this year’s Bouffons Montreal is a new stage set up on site that will celebrate and showcase various communities and their cultural niches, such as Otakuthon, Pays de la Sagouine and Haiti en Folie. Arts and food, food, food – perfection right?

To give you an idea of some of the food trucks in attendance, check out this list and start up your appetites, young professionals; this mega chow-down goes until July 27th from noon until 11pm daily.
