2013 Notable New Year’s Eve Guide Vancouver

Before you know it (and we hate to say it out loud), Christmas will have come and gone. Next on the notable agenda for YP readers will be planning the ultimate New Year’s Eve to ring in 2013. We’ve started our hunt for choice spot to raise your glass around town and rounded up a few top notch options for your consideration.

Always a New Year’s Eve fest worth noting, Vancouver’s go-to party that’s guaranteed to get you geared up takes place at Yaletown’s Hooker’s Green and its upstairs counterpart, The New Oxford. Hosted by The Jet Set Crew, this party marks the return of their annual Resolution: NYE Showdown – and is not to be missed. Helping you ring in 2013 in style, Moet & Chandon will be on hand and free flowing, alongside a dessert bar, live drummer (Zuzu), DJs Johnny Omega and Relly Rels, multiple rooms to get your party on and more. Rosewood Hotel Georgia returns again to offer discerning YPs looking for a classy NYE affair a party to remember (or, depending on cocktail count, forget?). Take in the historic space as you listen to live music, nosh on a variety of canapés from this award-winning restaurant and chill out in the chic atmosphere. Celebrations will get fully underway as the clock creeps toward midnight and champagne is generously poured. Grab a crew of friends and take advantage of group rates (for a limited time), enjoy VIP service and plenty more.

If you’re hoping to unleash your inner Irish, be sure to check out Ceilis NYE House Party. Always a great way to ring in the New Year, this party gets packed and sells out in advance. Who needs champagne (though there is some for toasting) when you’ll be surrounded by Guinness and plenty of other young professionals ready to let loose for the big night. Look for DJs, snacks, NYE party favours and all around Irish-style rowdiness to make this one worth attending. For more info, click here

Ring in 2013 with the best view in the city, a top Grouse Mountain as part of their annual New Year’s Eve Gala event. There are several dinner seating’s available with 3 or 6 course Grande tasting dinner offered at The Observatory restaurant with cocktails and dancing to follow. Sparkling wine will be served as the countdown begins, as you enjoy a memorable night in true coastal style.  For more information on this NYE option, click here

One party we definitely think you ought to note (and buy tickets for today!) has to be Moonlight: A NYE Black and White Ball. Put on by some noteworthy party people in YVR, trust us, this is where you’ll want to be, or wish you were… and it takes place at a rather ‘under-the-radar’ pop-up club (we’ll leave it to you to sleuth out that exact info).  Know that your night will be filled with some of the best music courtesy of DJs such as The Librarian, J.F. Killah, and Eradik, with entertainment courtesy of the Sweet Soul Burlesque Moonlight Cabaret ladies. Early bird tickets are already sold out – so don’t wait. Last, but certainly not least, a newcomer to the NYE scene in YVR, Buddah Rave is set to take over Yaletown’s Roundhouse for those looking for serious beats – without the hangover aftermath. Yup, that’s right… this party is as dry as you want to make it and very west coast in style, replete with organic drinks and vegetarian snacks to keep you up and dancing all night to notable DJs A-Slam and Electro Fusion.
