11 Things to Do in Toronto Before Spring Is Over

Toronto’s spring weather has been pretty standard, which is a blessing compared to the awful winter we just had. Now that the April showers seem to be subduing, it’s time to enjoy the warmer temps.

Here are 11 things to do in the city now that the weather is hitting that brief sweet spot where it’s not too cool and not too hot.

1. Attend Canadian Music Week

See our suggestions for bands to see over the 10 days of the festival.
2. See the cherry blossoms at High Park.

Their predicted bloom date is May 9th (so you should probably wait until a few days later when the crowds die down before heading over there).
3. Check out Toronto Taste.

The best chefs in the city will serve up an all-you-can-eat outdoor feast in support of Second Harvest Food Rescue on June 7th (and it’s the 25th anniversary of the event, so it should be extra special).
4. Drink on a boat with the Craft Brew Cruise

Boat season is upon us. You can float along Lake Ontario while imbibing on the best craft brews from the city on June 6th.
5. Get an early start on summer festival season with Bestival

The UK-based festival is coming to Toronto Island on June 12th and 13th, and you probably want to be there.
6. Go for a muddy run

The Mud Hero obstacle course race takes place May 22nd and 23rd.
7. Play ping-pong outdoors for free.

The ping-pong in the park initiative has given you an amazing reason to get outside more (and avoid the hefty table fees at Spin Toronto). Find concrete tables set up at Mel Lastman Square, Stanley Park, Ritchie Parkette, June Rowlands Park, Tall Pines Park and more.
8. Play outdoor sports indoors.

Toronto’s newest unique offering is Track & Field bar, where you can play bocce ball, shuffleboard, and other “games generally played by the elderly,” as their website states.
9. See the best photographs around.

The Contact Photography Festival is always a spring favourite, for a reason.
10. Let out your inner nudist.

If you don’t mind your butt sticking to the seat, taking your bicycle out for a literal joy ride with World Naked Bike Ride Toronto might be just what you need to shake up your weekend.
11. Fill your arteries with mac & cheese

The greatest food festival of them all comes to Toronto June 5th through 7th.
