11 Days of Culinary Goodness With TASTE MTL Starts This Week

Foodies, prepare… and we mean it. The 2nd edition of TASTE MTL, where over 125 participating restaurants will showcase what they’re made of during 11 days of culinary festivities and fun around the city, starts November 1st. This Tourisme Montreal initiative is presented by the Produits d’érable du Québec in collaboration with the SAQ and promises to be better than ever. More than 125 restaurants across the city will feature delicious and unique table d’hôte menus ranging from $19, $29 and $39, including a $19 late-night menu for all the party goers.

So, where can you grab a bite? From cozy neighbourhood bistros to chic restaurants and trendy eateries, you will be able to experience the best our city has to offer.

“TASTE MTL was born of our desire to make Montreal gastronomy more accessible and to celebrate the pleasures of good eating,” says Yves Lalumière, President and CEO of Tourisme Montreal.

This year, La Fédération des producteurs acéricoles du Québec joined the event and challenged participating chefs to come up with the most creative way to incorporate maple products into their recipes. Young professional foodies can look forward to unexpected pairings and distinctive dishes on the menus of participating restaurants.

But food isn’t the only cool thing on the menu. The event, which ties in with the festivities of Joyeux Novembre presented by the SAQ, offers a plethora of activities and events for this special occasion.

Here are some of our Notable picks:

The sound of opera on Saint Denis Street: Participating restaurants welcome the singers of the Opéra de Montreal, accompanied by a pianist where you could score a pair of tickets for the Opéra while visiting the participating restaurant.

Restaurants on Mont Royal Avenue welcome you by candlelight: Six restaurants on Mont Royal Avenue (Restaurant Plein Sud, Pizzeria Roméo, Misto, Bistro Bien Venue, Chez Victoire and Wakamono) invite guests to enjoy a cozy ambiance while tasting their specialties by candlelight. The candlelight dinners on certain dates will also be teaming up with the Festival de Musique de Chambre de Montreal.

Culinary tours: To complement your restaurant experiences, TASTE MTL offers you the chance to explore your appetite with culinary tours accompanied by a foodie guide where you’ll learn more about the city’s different neighbourhoods and can take advantage of an ultra-friendly happy hour formula.

Workshop on Vegan Montreal: All you vegan loving YPs can now experience the universe of Vegan Montreal, which is all about commitment, wellness and healthy living and will immerse you in the creation, production, innovation and philosophy of vegan eating!
