With July nearly ready to close up shop, August is ready to step into the spotlight.

And indeed it will, with a whole plethora of awesome summer events.

From a 4-day yoga retreat in the mountains to the coolest film festival in the world, Montreal is bringing its all to August.

Barbecue Bonanza
From the producers of Lobster Clam Jam comes the First Annual Barbecue Bonanza on August 23rd: an outdoor grilling festival showcasing barbecuing, grilling, roasting, smoking, and braising techniques from around the world at the Montreal Clock Tower in the Old Port. Entertainment will include DJs, caricature artists, face painting, and more. A portion of all proceeds will be donated to the Starlight Children’s Foundation.

The Montreal Highland Games
The Montreal Highland Games are back at the Arthur-Therrien Park in Verdun on Sunday August 2nd with full Highland pageantry. The day will include pipe band, highland dance, and heavy weight competitions including the caber toss, sheaf toss, hammer throw, and putting the stone.

Fantasia Film Festival
You have until August 6th to experience what is probably the world’s weirdest and coolest film festival. The Rogers Cup
The 40 best male players from the ATP Tour will be in Montreal Aug. 7-16 competing in the 2015 Rogers Cup. Andy Murray, Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer and others will be gracing the Uniprix Stadium with their best game. Also onsite will plenty of food, games, autograph sessions, bars, and other activities.

Italian Week Montreal

Montreal International Reggae Festival
The largest outdoor reggae festival in Canada is back attracting over 20,000 patrons for the weekend festivities featuring performers from Jamaica, Canada, the United States, and Europe. One love.

Montreal Pride
The largest LGBT gathering in the Francophone world, Montréal Pride will hold its ninth edition from Monday, August 10 to Sunday, August 16. The program is designed around three key components: community activities, cultural events, and festivities.
