Elevator Pitch: Describe your business in a nutshell.
swUrl is an experiential self-serve frozen yogurt shoppe located on Crescent St. in Montreal. We have eight delicious non-fat flavours and over 40 different toppings with everything from fresh fruits to Pop-tarts, all in a peanut and nut-free environment.

Why did you start your business, what was the inspiration?
After a brief stint in L.A., I knew I wanted to start up my own business and I always loved food and the self-serve concept, so after a lot of research and yogurt testing we opened up swUrl.

What is the best part of what you do on a day-to-day basis? The most challenging part?
The best part is the customers. It’s amazing to see how you can make other people so happy. The most challenging is balancing your life. A new business is like a newborn: You sleep less, see friends and family less, and just are always watching keenly to see what will happen next.

Where do you see your business going in 5 years?
In the next 5 years we hope to open more stores locally, nationally, and internationally. We are trying to create a brand that will one day be on par with other frozen treat giants.

What does success look like to you?
I think I have seen success, but now I want to see successful.

What is the most memorable milestone in your career?
Our first sale. There were many times when I thought we would never open, so many bumps while I was running around like a crazy man, but when we made that sale I forgot about all the hardships before it.

Do you have any advice for other young professionals?
Be prepared for the unexpected. Be passionate about what you do, because it shows.

Do you support any charities? If so, which one(s) and why is that important to you?
We support a lot of local charities, big or small. We do it because it is important to get involved in your community.

Anything else?
Notable is a great tool for young professionals and entrepreneurs to connect, interact, and have fun.
