Young Entrepreneur: Aditya Shah

Aditya Shah is a twenty-something entrepreneur and one of the geniuses behind Loose Button’s Luxe Box (a monthly beauty box subscription that recently launched to the public). Find out what helps drive his passion.

Elevator Pitch: Describe your business in a nutshell.
Imagine getting a cute, chic box in the mail every month filled with deluxe beauty samples from great brands. This, in a nutshell, is Luxe Box – a beauty subscription service where women get to try beauty products out in the comfort of their own home for a small monthly fee.

Why did you start your business, what was the inspiration?
We wanted to find a better way to connect brands with consumers through an online shopping experience. The beauty industry is driven by sampling: brands want to get their samples in consumers’ hands, and consumers want to try products out before buying them. Luxe Box was an opportunity to bridge the gap.

What is the best part of what you do on a day-to-day basis? The most challenging part?
The best part is that everyday is new, with different priorities, challenges, and victories. Work is never truly “work,” and time usually flies by when you are working on something you are truly passionate about.

The most challenging part is making decisions in the face of uncertainty. Decisions are what move a company forward, and they usually have to be made when you don’t have all the data in front of you.

Where do you see your business going in 5 years?
In 5 years, we would like to be a global business, shipping across the world. We would also love to try different verticals (such as food, nutrition and supplements, etc.) where we can apply a subscription business model and solve similar problems for brands and consumers.

What does success look like to you?
Success to me is being able to work with talented and ambitious people on creating something significant of value.

What is the most memorable milestone in your career?
The first Luxe Box order will always be a memorable milestone.

Do you have any advice for other young professionals?
Young professionals truly have the ability to do whatever we set our mind to – start a business, join a social cause, empower those in need, climb up the corporate ladder and more. You have to take some risk to get there, but once you get there, you will never look back. We are ambitious, fearless, driven by our passions and always challenging the status quo – the perfect recipe for creating the world we want around us. And the time is always now.

Do you support any charities? If so, which one(s) and why is that important to you?
I am a big fan of Kiva because a small loan can make a huge difference in someone’s life by helping to get their business off the ground. I am a firm believer in the philosophy that you need to educate and empower those in need so they can support themselves and lead a happy and independent life.

What is Notable to you?
When people follow their gut to pursue their passions in life.
