You Can Now Track Other People’s Uber Rides

There’s nothing more frustrating than not knowing if someone you care about has made it to their destination safe and sound.

Which is why Uber has launched a new feature called Trip Tracker that will allow users to track their family members’ and loved ones’ rides through the app. The app has often come under fire for not doing enough to make sure its customers are safe while in Uber vehicles.

And since Uber has recently become legal in Toronto, this safety update couldn’t have come at a better time.

The Trip Tracker feature is part of another Uber setting called Family Profiles, which lets you add other riders to a joint family profile, with rides billed to the profile organizer. The people in your family profile don’t necessarily have to be a part of your family; they just have to accept your invitation to the profile.

The Family Profiles feature will now go the next step and provide the profile organizer with automatic notifications and the ability to follow along on the map whenever someone is riding under their Family.

So now you’ll never have to worry if your daughter has made it to her exam in time or if your boyfriend actually went home after the bar.
