What This Toronto Photographer Can Do with Photoshop Is Seriously Breathtaking

Photoshop often gets a bad rap, but when done right, the results can be incredible.

Justin Main’s work is the perfect example of this. Four year ago, he quit his job at the Honda factory in Alliston, Ont. to pursue his dream of becoming a full-time professional photographer.

Today, the 30-year-old digital artist has amassed over 23 thousand Instagram followers on his @photified account. It’s here where he posts his insane Photoshop masterpieces, where the 6ix often has a starring role.

Main spends about 12 hours a day using Photoshop, and even has a tattoo on his arm dedicated to the application. “I remix images like a DJ would work with music composition. My goal is to always grab the attention of the viewer, and create a lasting emotional attachment,” Main told 24 Hours.

When asked what inspires him most about his city, he says it’s the city’s energy and diversity that truly captivates him.

“It is an amazing place where you can be yourself, and be accepted. Being different is okay! There are so many unique people here,” says Main.

Main has also been able to parlay his sizable social media following into various collaborations with businesses both in Toronto and internationally.

“Taking the leap to chase my dream was the best decision of my life,” Main said. “I’ve loved creating images since I was a kid. I’ve been Photoshopping over half my life, and it was all I ever wanted to do.”

Maybe “follow your dreams” isn’t dumb millennial advice after all.
