We Went to New York and Discovered the Secret to Brighter Skin

When New York and skincare call, you answer.

With summer starting to peek its head out – I can’t help but look forward to makeup-less days and nights (so important to let your skin breathe), but one big skincare concern makes it hard to put my foundation away: uneven skin!

In fact, after wrinkles, uneven skin (including dark spots) is the main skincare concern for Canadian women.

So how can #wethenorth shed all that dull skin with an effective skincare routine without breaking bank?

Thankfully, at the L’Oréal Paris U.S.A skincare event in New York, I learned about the brand’s newest skincare line by Revitalift, which was invented with the purpose of visibly reducing those annoying dark spots and wrinkles overtime.

The star of the event was L’Oréal Paris’ Revitalift Bright Reveal – their first derm-inspired anti-wrinkle and brightening skincare routine powered by Glycolic Acid. Don’t know what Glycolic is? Well, let’s just say it’s the holy grail of skincare and recognized as the gold-standard of anti-wrinkle and anti-dark spot care.

What’s even better is that the routine is simple – even for gals on the go such as myself.

Each of these products is effective, so if you want to start by exploring with just a couple of the products, you can still get a lot of benefits.

So here’s the routine that’ll give you that healthy glow:

1. Cleanse
The Bright Reveal Brightening Scrub Cleanser exfoliates dullness and impurities to improve complexion and texture.

2. Treat
Here come the pads! These pre-soaked pillow pads are comparable to a chemical peel. They’re actually infused with 10% Glycolic acid, which will stimulate exfoliation.

3. Moisturize AM
The Revitalift Brightening Daily Lotion is complete with SPF 30 to protect your skin from the sun – the main cause of dark spots and wrinkles.

4. Moisturize PM
The Brightening Dual Overnight Moisturizer is a fun little bottle that combines two effective formulas in one pump, helping reduce the look of dark spots, uneven tones, and wrinkles.

Now to the multi-masking.

In New York, L’Oreal Paris also introduced their first sensorial skincare treatments – Clay Masks. Three different masks are hitting shelves soon and each work to target a different skincare need.

There’s one to purify and mattify, one to exfoliate and smooth, and a third to detox and brighten.

If you’re new to the concept of multi-masking, this skincare trend makes for some really fun Instagram pics. It involves using a different clay mask on different areas of your face – creating a colourful canvas of red, charcoal and blue clays. Au revoir, oily T-Zone!

Revitalift Bright Reveal will be available July 19th and the Pure Clay Masks in mid-August on lorealparis.ca
