Video: Canadian Pro Skier Falls Nearly 500 Metres… and Survives

A miracle is an event not explicable by natural or scientific laws, which is exactly how you would describe Canadian pro skier Ian McIntosh’s minute-long tumble down Alaska’s Neacola mountain.

Or, as McIntosh prefers to call it, “being in Mother Nature’s washing machine from hell.”

McIntosh found himself in this particularly frightening washing machine after mistakenly veering left on an edge that was sunshine on the right and near-death on the left.

“Normally I would take a little bit more time to study my line and I’d do a little bit more homework regarding skiing something like this,” he said in an interview with the Calgary Sun, adding that he feels bad about his parents having to worry about him all the time.

Footage of McIntosh’s fall was recorded during the production of a movie, which recently premiered in New York.

Definitely don’t try this at home, folks.
