Vasek Pospisil burst Andy Murray’s bubble with an insanely powerful crosscourt hit to win at Indian Wells on Saturday night.

The number one tennis player in the world, Andy Murray, was defeated Saturday night at BNP Paribas Open after being beaten 6-4 7-6(5) by Canadian qualifier, and Notable Life contributor, Vasek Pospisil. Pospisil proved #anythingispospisil with a cross court winning hit on his fourth match point before celebrating in front of the near capacity crowd at Indian Wells.

Everyone loves a Canadian winner

The crowd at BNP Paribas was on Pospisil’s side last night. Currently ranking No. 129 in the world, Pospisil’s win was explosive given that Murray is currently ranked number one.

Vasek played an aggressive game, constantly approaching the net and hitting incredibly powerful forehands. Pospisil’s huge serves and even bigger forehand hits, plus his crosscourt winner, combined to create the perfect storm against Murray who ultimately lost on the fourth match point.

Don’t let Vasek’s big smile and kind Canadian heart fool you, Murray. Vasek’s a beast.
