Feast proves that décor is in the details at their newly renovated restaurant in Dundarave Village. Boasting 30 seats inside (plus an additional 10 available at the bar), it’s a bustling room filled with animated conversation and activity. They’ve employed impeccable craftsmanship to create a space that’s got just the right touch of shabby-chic to it, right down to the reclaimed timber wall panel siding, bench seating and high tops throughout). Minimalist lighting adds to the mood, as do the simple punches of white interspersed throughout.
If you’re looking for a quieter nook to tuck into for date night, call ahead and beg to nab a table on their 30-seat patio (you’ll have fun indulging in a bit of West Van people watching).
The kitchen is honed by Executive Chef Kayla Dhaliwall, one of Top Chef Canada season three’s contenders, with a fiery passion for cuisine. Kayla, a graduate of the VCC’s Culinary Arts Program, has more than a decade of experience tucked under her belt with a number of notable BC establishments. She’s worked with Saturna Island Vineyard’s Bistro, the Fairmont Waterfront and, more recently, Tapenade Bistro. Her take on creating dishes: she works with ingredients that are flavourful, approachable and sustainable.
And create she has, with a score of seafood-minded options like crab cakes, saltspring mussels, smoked octopus, fish and chips, barley sound sockeye, and roasted halibut.
There’s something for the vegetarians and carnivores, too. Feast on the rib eye for two, K’s FC (cute!), salt roasted beets, squash and chickpea curry, and their signature Feast burger.
To round out the offerings at Feast, save room for a bag of their warm, housemade donuts dusted in sugar and relax with one of the many craft beer, local and international wine, and cocktails on deck.
Open now for lunch, dinner, late night snacks and brunch service (soon), be sure to make this a stop when you pop over the Lion’s Gate. Your taste buds will thank you for it.
